The Convoy Through Crich by DarkXenith The Convoy Through Crich by DarkXenith
Location: Crich Tram Museum, Derby, UK.

Let me put you in the picture here with a montage of four photos. The little black car in the shots is my Mini Designer, Monty as we call him in the family, and today he did a 120 mile round trip from my place to the Tram Museum at Crich for a 'Show and Shine' event. What you can see here is the 'parade' through the streets of the Museum village featuring no less than 100 Minis...

Suffice it to say, today was Monty's first foray on to the show circuit, all be it unofficially seen as I just snuck into the parade rather than entered with a club group but there you go. ^^ He was the only Designer in attendance!

Heheheh. As I said, there were over a hundred Minis there...we actually had to do the parade rout 3 times for everyone to get into the line and go round at least once. :P

Monty: *Beeps at you and nudges a polishing cloth over*

Oh it was...and we had a beautiful day for it too. The sky was that azure blue... *Sighs* In fact, you can see it reflected in Monty's roof. XD

Yay! Must have been fun. So do you have to join a club to show or can you do it as an individual?

Well, I'm a paid member of the National Mini Owner's Club over here and the Birmingham Mini Owner's Club too, which is my local one, but neither of them were in attendance from what I could see. The usual trick is join a club and then set up on their stand for a Show & Shine, or please yourself if you're entering the Concourse class to try for a prize. However, in the absence of such things at Crich I just snuck into the parade anyway, I'd paid my entrance and Monty was the only one of his kind there so the stewards couldn't really say anything. :P

Lesson of the Day: Always make sure you know where the nearest bloody petrol station is! I spent 45 minutes trying to find one after the show... _ Oh, and I also mastered the ancient art of driving at 2mph over cobbles and tram tracks in a convoy. *Grins*

Aren't all the new mini commercials odd? *Grins*

Anyway, Chance was on best behaviour - for once - seen as Monty was the star of the day. There were plenty of black and white Coopers for him to look around along with that lovely little purple Equinox. ^^
